In the Sree Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple in Bhadrachalam, Telangana, they conduct special pujas using golden Tulsi leaves and golden flowers.
This unique worship happens only on weekends—specifically, on Saturdays and Sundays.
I learned about this from Krishnamacharyu, the temple’s Ramayana reciter.
He explained that the procedures for these pujas come from the Agama Shastra, an ancient script that details various methods of worship.
According to these teachings, using different metals in worship yields different results, and gold is considered the best.
Worshiping the Lord with gold can bring special blessings.
What’s great is that the temple allows ordinary devotees like us to participate in these golden pujas.
Every Saturday, they have the Suvarna Tulsi Archana, and every Sunday, the Suvarna Pushparchana puja.
If you want to take part, you just need to wear traditional attire and buy a ticket for Rs 500, available both online and offline.
These pujas take place from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on their respective days.
Krishnamacharyu also mentioned that even common devotees are given the chance to participate, which I think is a wonderful way to make these special rituals accessible to everyone.
