I recently read on News18.com about a touching moment shared by Saira Banu, the veteran actress, and widow of the legendary actor Dilip Kumar, as she reminisced about her husband’s patriotic spirit during the ongoing Lok Sabha Polls 2024.
Her heartfelt appeal for citizens to vote really struck a chord with me.
Saira Banu, known for her incredible career in Indian cinema, has been encouraging everyone to exercise their right to vote.
In her social media message, she beautifully recalled Dilip Kumar’s unwavering commitment to his national duties. Dilip Kumar wasn’t just a cinematic icon; he was a true patriot who deeply believed in the power of democracy.
Saira Banu shared how Dilip Kumar always yearned for the best for India.
His belief in the humanity of our people was evident in his constant care and concern for the nation.
As a conscientious citizen, he always upheld the importance of voting, diligently casting his vote in every election to strive for the betterment of our homeland.
She also fondly remembered how voting day was a special occasion for them.
After their marriage, they would venture out together to vote, turning it into a celebration of their civic duty, accompanied by fans who admired their dedication.
In her post, Saira Banu urged all of us to follow in Dilip Kumar’s footsteps.
She emphasized that voting is not just a right but a duty to shape the destiny of our beloved nation.
Her message was clear: “As this voting day approaches, I urge everyone to exercise their right to vote and contribute to our nation’s success.”
Her appeal comes at a crucial time, as the fifth phase of the elections is underway across six states and two Union Territories.
It’s part of a larger movement where various Bollywood celebrities, like Amitabh Bachchan, Karan Johar, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Shilpa Shetty, have also been vocal about the importance of voting in the 2024 General Elections.
Saira Banu’s tribute to Dilip Kumar and her passionate call to vote reminded me of the importance of participating in our democracy.
It’s a powerful reminder that each of our votes can help shape the future of our nation.
