Akshay Kumar, the Bollywood superstar, recently opened up about his son Aarav and his refreshingly simple lifestyle.
Despite being a star kid, Aarav has chosen a very different path from the glitzy world of cinema.
On the first episode of cricketer Shikhar Dhawan’s new talk show, “Dhawan Karenge,” which just dropped on JioCinema, Akshay revealed that Aarav isn’t interested in acting at all.
Instead, he’s passionate about fashion.
Akshay explained that he and Twinkle Khanna have brought up Aarav to be a very simple boy.
He mentioned that while his daughter loves clothes, Aarav is more interested in fashion and has no desire to be part of the cinema world.
When Aarav told him he didn’t want to do films, Akshay supported his decision, telling him to do what he wanted with his life.
I found it really inspiring that Aarav, despite his privileged background, prefers to live simply.
Akshay mentioned that Aarav does all his household chores himself and even opts for second-hand clothes from a store called Thrifty.
Akshay also shared that Aarav left home at 15 to study in London, which shows his independence and self-reliance.
Aarav takes care of his own laundry, is a good cook, handles the dishes, and avoids buying expensive clothes.
Another interesting tidbit is about Twinkle Khanna, Aarav’s mom.
In 2022, she mentioned on her channel, Tweak India, that she funded her kids’ education from her own savings.
She wanted her children to know that their mother paid for their education, not just provided them with homemade food.
Twinkle lives well below her means, avoiding unnecessary spending, which has led to some teasing from her family who wonder why she works so hard if she doesn’t spend money on anything.
From this story, I’ve learned that it’s important to stay true to yourself and not be swayed by what others expect you to be.
Aarav’s choice to lead a simple life and follow his own path is truly inspiring.
