Voice of SAP (VOSAP), an Indian-American disability-focused NGO based in Los Angeles, has successfully raised USD 1 million to support its work in empowering disabled individuals in India.
The funds were raised at an event held on September 21, attended by philanthropists, dignitaries, volunteers, donors, and VOSAP supporters.
The city council of Artesia, California, recognized VOSAP’s efforts with a Certificate of Recognition from Mayor Tony Lima, presented by Pro Tem Mayor Ali Sajjad Taj to the organization’s founders.
VOSAP’s Vision for the Future
During the event, VOSAP founder Pranav Desai shared his “Vision 2047,” which aims to empower differently-abled individuals to contribute to India’s economy.
Desai emphasized that by helping disabled people participate in the workforce, they can make significant contributions to India’s goal of reaching a USD 1 trillion economy by 2047.
He demonstrated how even small donations could have a large economic impact, explaining that a USD 100 donation could potentially create a multiplier effect of up to USD 10,000 in the economy.
This powerful message resonated with the audience, motivating many to contribute to the cause.
Project “Hitarth” and Healthcare Initiatives
Desai also introduced VOSAP’s new project, “Hitarth,” launched in May 2024, which focuses on improving healthcare access for disabled individuals in India.
One of the key aspects of this initiative is helping people access the Indian government’s “Nirmaya” program, which provides healthcare services worth up to Rs 1 lakh for intellectually disabled individuals.
VOSAP’s approach includes paying social workers to guide families through the process of accessing these benefits, making healthcare more accessible for disabled individuals.
This innovative model of support was well-received by the donors, who appreciated the practical and effective approach to reaching those in need.

Sparsh Shah, a youth ambassador for VOSAP and a talented singer, inspired the audience with his heartfelt performance.
